Client Configuation
There are a variety of clients available that support the Jabber protocol used by the MTU IM service.
To connect to the MTU IM server, you will need to have a valid Jabber ID and a password. Your MTU IM Jabber ID is your Michigan Tech UserID followed by "@mtu.edu" - the same value as your MTU email address. Your password is your MTU ISO password, the same one you use to access your email.
You can connect using multiple Jabber clients at the same time, so long as you assign a different resource to each of them. The resource is simply a value that you can use to differentiate between various clients or locations - "Home", "Work", and "School", for example.
